Tickets will be available for the 2008 NKRC Presentation Night to be held on Saturday the 8th November from Thursday 23rd October from the canteen. All members are welcome. This is not only a presentation for the Club Championship but a celebration of all the racing at Newcastle during 2008.

 

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday the 18th November at the TRACK. Contact the office if you have not received the first notification sent out in the last week of September. A few notifications have been returned due to the club having the incorrect members address'.

 

The inaugural "NKRC  Karting Swap Meet" will be held on Sunday 16th November 2008. Gates will open at 7:00am for sellers and buyers at 8:30am. The cost for a 3m x 3m site will be $10.00. The cost for buyers will be a gold coin donation. All proceeds will go to Bear Cottage. The track will be open for practice.

Sale: 2007 NSW State Championships polo shirts, Adult sizes (chequered collars) $15.00 GST Inc., Children sizes (striped collars) $10.00 GST Inc. Prices valid while stocks last.

 

Pit Crew Waiver Cards are compulsory for those pit crew entering the circuit area, Out Grid, In Grid and Parc Ferme. The waiver cards are available from the office for a cost of $2.50 (GST Inc). One passport photo is required and is also available from the office for a cost of $5.00 (GST Inc). The club will not issue these cards on a race day due to staff/volunteer constraints.

 

Safety vests will no longer be supplied by the club. Safety vests are available for purchase from the canteen for a cost of $12.00 (GST Inc).

*** NEXT RACE MEETING ***

 

The next race meeting will be a single day event to be held on Sunday 30th November. It is intended to hold two  "Ladies Only" races for non-licence holders. An AKA Single Event Licence and SEL club membership will be required. More details will be available after the committee meeting on Wednesday 19th October.

*** WORKING BEES ***

 

The next working bee will be held on Saturday 6th December.  It is for all members. This is the last working bee to ensure the facility is in tip top shape for the Christmas/New Year break. Please bring a mower and/or line trimmer and PPE if possible.

 

All working bees are now a half day with attendees receiving free practice after 1:00pm. Non members are welcome to attend working bees also, lunch and free practice after 1:00pm are also provided.

An important announcement for ALL people wishing to obtain their first Race license. You MUST view the Safety Training Lecture. This lecture is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes long, and will start at 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm on the days that the track is open.

Members who wish to do their OLT on the allocated days in the calendar must contact the track by the Thursday of the week of the OLT and are asked to take note of the following timetable; 8:30am - track walk, 9:00am - OLT sign-up, 9:15am - OLT questionnaire & lecture, 10:30am - Inspection of kart and safety equipment, from 10:45am - Observed driving. The start time of 8:30am is not negotiable, if you are late, you will not be able to participate.

Visitors who wish to take part in a "Come and Try" must contact the track by the Thursday of the week of the "Come and Try" and are asked to take note of the following timetable; 8:30am - track walk, 9:00am - C&T sign-up, 9:15am - Safety Training lecture and  questionnaire, 10:30am - Inspection of kart and safety equipment, from 10:45am - "Come and Try" sessions start. "Come and Try" days will now be held every second month starting from February 2008.

Want to earn two free practice passes (to the value of $50.00)?  Easy, come and be a Flag Marshall for a full day at an NKRC race meeting! Please contact the Club Captain if you are interested, conditions apply.
Track Closures: The track is closed every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and some Public Holidays. Contact the Track for the latest update on availability.
