Important: As part of the new Constitution, the club will implement a new membership structure starting the 1st February 2012. The changes include reducing the number of membership types from twelve to four, the ability for Associate and Junior members to purchase more than one years membership (as has been the case for Adult and Family memberships in the past) and the reduction in the number of Free practice vouchers given for additional years memberships paid for in advance. The new form can be found on the "Documents" page.

 

The February 19th 2012 race meeting Supplementary Regulations can be found below in the section "Next Race Meeting".

Track Availability and practice direction:

Practice direction is clockwise up to and including  the race meeting on Sunday 19th February 2012. 

 

Practice will be unavailable from certain times on the following days;

All Working Bees and Come & Try days - Unavailable until 13:00pm, check Calendar for dates. Discounted practice applies.

 

Thursday 26th January 2012 - Unavailable all day.

Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd April 2012 - Unavailable all day on all days. CIK Stars Of Karting.

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July 2012 - Unavailable all day on both days. TEKA track hire.

Calling all Boiler Makers and other volunteers. We have either not received quotes back or the quotes received for the construction of the Grand Stand modules have been excessive. Steve King from the Light Machine Shop has generously offered the use of his factory bay for the construction of the Grand Stands. If you are able to assist in any way please contact the club on 02-4953-3299 or 0438-301685. The planned start date is early April 2011.

 

Canteen volunteers are required for race days and for a few hours on the day prior to a race day. Please contact the club on 0438-301685 for details.

*** NEXT RACE MEETING ***

 

The next race meeting will be held on Sunday 19th February 2012 and will be run in the clockwise direction. 

The Race Secretary will process race entries (Race Secretaries office, ground floor of the Control Tower) from 12:30pm to 4:20pm the day before a race meeting for those competitors wishing to pre-enter.

All eligible AKA licence holders are welcome (OLT'ed E*, D, C, B and "A" grade financial licences), regardless of whether you are or are not a member of NKRC.

*Please note that E Grade licence holders may only race at one race meeting per their licence year (Rule 13.15.1).

*** WORKING BEES ***

 

The next  working bee will be held on Saturday 11th February 2012. All club members are welcome and urged to participate.

 

Please bring a mower and/or line trimmer and PPE if possible.

 

All working bees are now a half day with attendees receiving lunch then free practice after 1:00pm. Non members are welcome to attend working bees also.

 

It must be made clear that if a member or non-member practices in the afternoon following a working bee and their participation at the working bee has been performed for Club Championship qualification they are not entitled to a free practice voucher under any circumstance.

*** AKA LICENCING ***

The link to the current AKA Karting Manual and addendums can be found under the "Documents" tab above.

New licence holders and licence holders who wish to renew their AKA licence are able to do so at the following web address:  http://www.karting.net.au/apply-for-a-licence/ . For existing licence holders, your "Identity" number is your licence number. Please ensure that your club membership has a minimum of three months to expiry at the time of renewing your licence online.

 

Effective 16th August 2011, the staff in the office are no longer allowed to renew a licence holders licence at the office. The renewal MUST be performed by the licence holder under their own USERID issued by the State Office.

For ALL wishing to obtain their first Race or Social License. You MUST view the Safety Training Lecture and pass the "open book" exam. This lecture is approximately 1 hour 15 minutes long, and will start at 9:00am, 11:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm on the days that the track is open, race days excluded.

Members who wish to do their OLT on the allocated days in the calendar must contact the track by the Thursday of the week of the OLT. The start time of 10:30am is not negotiable, if you are late, you will not be able to participate.

Pit Crew Waiver Cards are compulsory for those pit crew entering the circuit area, Out Grid, In Grid and Parc Ferme. The waiver cards are available from the office for a cost of $3.00 (GST Inc) and are valid for 12 months. One passport photo is required and is also available from the office for a cost of $5.00 (GST Inc). The club will not issue these cards on a race day due to staff/volunteer constraints.

Visitors who wish to take part in a "Come and Try" must contact the track by the Thursday of the week of the "Come and Try".

The "Come and Try" session start at 08:00am. The start time of 08:00am is not negotiable, if you are late, you will not be able to participate.

Want to earn two free practice passes (to the value of $60.00)?  Easy, come and be a Flag Marshall for a full day at an NKRC race meeting! Please contact the Club Captain if you are interested, conditions apply. Important note, if you are performing a Flag day for your licence, you are not entitled to free practice vouchers, but food and beverages are still supplied.
Track Closures: The track is closed every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and some Public Holidays. Contact the Track for the latest update on availability.
